The approach

Greenleaf Counseling is located in the Lehigh Valley, PA. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered as you work toward healing and personal growth.I use different approaches for different people because no two people are the same. I lean into an Acceptance Commitment Therapy when working with my young adult and teenager population. My goal is to not change you or fix you but to help you work through feelings and understand how feeling emotions and having them is normal and part of being human.

Teens often feel they are constantly being told how to feel and act and in therapy we step away from that. Instead of trying to make feelings such as sadness, anger and anxiety go away we focus on exploring those feelings and working through them to help them build onto these skills to use later on in life.

If you are in your twenties and thinking about exploring therapy this is a great place to start. Your twenties can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming. You may be questioning who you are, what you want, or whether you're falling behind everyone else. Between career decisions, changing relationships, family expectations, social media, and the pressure to "have it all together," it's easy to lose sight of yourself. My goal isn't to tell you who you should become. It's to help you discover who you already are, build confidence in yourself, and move toward a life that feels authentic.

Working with my 55+ clients often looks like working through a big life transition of retirement, working through feelings of physical changes, identifying values in this chapter of life, loneliness, empty nesting and feelings of loss of purpose. We can work on Rediscovering hobbies, Strengthening relationships, Volunteering, spiritual exploration and building a meaningful daily routine.

Healing takes time, patience and consistency during 1:1 therapy. Another approach I use for other clients can solution-focused and centered on helping individuals challenge themselves while also recognizing and building on their strengths.

I want to help you achieve the goal you have in your mind. The base of my approach is Person Centered Therapy then adding skills from CBT/ACT/DBT/IFS. I believe in meeting people where they are, normalizing and validating their experiences, and working together to create meaningful goals and purposeful change. Therapy can be both supportive and engaging and include laughter, and I want to make the process a positive and empowering experience.
